As you know Caleb was diagonosed with DMD (duchenne muscular dystrophy) almost 2 years ago. Our first experience with the MDA was at the clinic at University Hospital, where the doctors and support staff were so kind to Caleb and so helpful and<strong> patient</strong> to Andy and I. They answered all of our questions and never gave us the feeling that we were taking too much of their time. They have treated us with the same kindness and respect at every visit and check-up. The MDA also puts together many incredible fundraisers throughout the year to make sure the families that suffer with this disease are well taken care of.</span></div><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="font-size:130%;">Make your muscle work for something good, please join our team or make a donation. All the money raised goes to help the families in our local area! Since Jack likes to live in luxury we stayed at the Sorrell River Ranch (a resort 20 min outside of Moab). The resort was beautiful. This picture of the Colorado River was taken from our porch. At night there were billions of stars and everything was quiet expect for the river, it was so peaceful! <br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP6JcmsPBm_eG-NlHjE-bff0lCLSNUYthnqhT00CxYBsA2expeWty8HyBHiLJaaJkTt-9SBQyRzep76w7qyzLiPDrtSKQ0yK9UgfmhoLBgsHvv5e32AtQPIgxWjvEWmXccGKijF-8Bu5w/s1600/IMG_4490.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5667826689281328018" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP6JcmsPBm_eG-NlHjE-bff0lCLSNUYthnqhT00CxYBsA2expeWty8HyBHiLJaaJkTt-9SBQyRzep76w7qyzLiPDrtSKQ0yK9UgfmhoLBgsHvv5e32AtQPIgxWjvEWmXccGKijF-8Bu5w/s320/IMG_4490.JPG" /></a> Here is Luke sitting in front of the cabin that we stayed in. The only downfall of being this close to the river is I wouldn't let the boys come out and play by themselves. I kept having nightmares of one of them falling in, luckily nothing like that happened :).<br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9F2tZM03_v1urALldfucVaC5GzodgAmh2sMvxhmmY7vbvUGoy0bgHkNszzsgsG0G81aiT4R8SJEJP4UMhPZ7CEdDob324e5p6McL5tXcmLuLSErS8nf6auxNhGBbmj71HVbOe-qm7rx8/s1600/IMG_4509.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5667826679803504130" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9F2tZM03_v1urALldfucVaC5GzodgAmh2sMvxhmmY7vbvUGoy0bgHkNszzsgsG0G81aiT4R8SJEJP4UMhPZ7CEdDob324e5p6McL5tXcmLuLSErS8nf6auxNhGBbmj71HVbOe-qm7rx8/s320/IMG_4509.JPG" /></a> We really wanted to see Delicate Arch but we knew with Caleb we would never make the 3 mile hike. So we did the 1.5 mile hike to the viewpoint of the arch, it was still an incredible sight. I'm glad we chose the shorter hike because Caleb insisited that I carry him the whole time and wouldn''t let anyone else help. He is a little bit of a momma's boy right now, hopefully that passes soon.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhF-TzLCCXpo8ihEZ2ksOq6kmBPsIquxNV2u-nwZuQ-xT954YaU06__obsnc5Fm7L5VHWry1-UDhjoK8UCrjpDsbnJzlDnmFGegnX4wjvLrA1bMBNGskJRZnSTn8agWAwteQk6CDiiNPeg/s1600/IMG_4515.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5667826676705059122" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhF-TzLCCXpo8ihEZ2ksOq6kmBPsIquxNV2u-nwZuQ-xT954YaU06__obsnc5Fm7L5VHWry1-UDhjoK8UCrjpDsbnJzlDnmFGegnX4wjvLrA1bMBNGskJRZnSTn8agWAwteQk6CDiiNPeg/s320/IMG_4515.JPG" /></a> We also drove up to Dead Horse Point. It is so incredible to be drving along and suddenly come to a point where you can't drive any further because there are tall cliffs all around. I had to include this picture of Caleb being "strong." Lately he has made a big deal out of the fact that he is strong, he always says, "Me's big, me's strong." And when he can't do simple things such as opening doors he cries and cries and says, "Me's not strong," it breaks my heart. I think he is really starting to get that he can't do things that everyone else can do his age. <br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghhGKrjeHsCtYsRKCU2l6q87hcDPwS35YwLUylcNZ-9fKo4QO9kuyVTPIjjt4NfbIB1sqncW_6Lr2g_qdwaSsSjylbmEZlMfqxR3tyrLgIDOkhHrfdHJoqSvpw32Ei4CQy3Kru9hYPJv0/s1600/IMG_4517.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5667826373491985746" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghhGKrjeHsCtYsRKCU2l6q87hcDPwS35YwLUylcNZ-9fKo4QO9kuyVTPIjjt4NfbIB1sqncW_6Lr2g_qdwaSsSjylbmEZlMfqxR3tyrLgIDOkhHrfdHJoqSvpw32Ei4CQy3Kru9hYPJv0/s320/IMG_4517.JPG" /></a> The fam at the Dead Horse Point Viewpoint<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzKILWZrlGNZuTVcLI_uCmjLRDeueQTZOuYwKlapIxB-28Jkmi-Q1ZD_pbtbD6ywL1PwJUw85NlszM0OUOyoD-_6REoBXtxoGNtpKyaGiOUWMPdqkSvPN4y-mTc1upT_ITs_lzP_s7fMc/s1600/IMG_4526.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5667826363112435186" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzKILWZrlGNZuTVcLI_uCmjLRDeueQTZOuYwKlapIxB-28Jkmi-Q1ZD_pbtbD6ywL1PwJUw85NlszM0OUOyoD-_6REoBXtxoGNtpKyaGiOUWMPdqkSvPN4y-mTc1upT_ITs_lzP_s7fMc/s320/IMG_4526.JPG" /></a> Taking a rest after a long day in the car and hiking around.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAhS_peFYdVQ-qjb8JcUT7kmHYtwIigS7-aeuKRV3_Wg_q60y4KTjW9dcMbzfGrLJQpnv16ro-s0sduhZCRF7-Xf2syGhnlSv3asi1GOI2eZlv94pILUxDPBKvQx0v1ZbvawRxMmHO3XE/s1600/IMG_4527.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5667826362507681746" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAhS_peFYdVQ-qjb8JcUT7kmHYtwIigS7-aeuKRV3_Wg_q60y4KTjW9dcMbzfGrLJQpnv16ro-s0sduhZCRF7-Xf2syGhnlSv3asi1GOI2eZlv94pILUxDPBKvQx0v1ZbvawRxMmHO3XE/s320/IMG_4527.JPG" /></a> When we were walking around Dead Horse Point we saw the biggest spider I have ever seen! His favorite part is definately the bus that pulls up right in front of our house to pick him up. I can't really say what he's learning because I ask him every day how school was and he always tells me what kind of snack he ate and that's it. Oh well, he seems to be having fun. He is starting his senond year of preschool soon and getting so big! He won't let anyone help him do anything at all and with his disablility it can sometimes takes him a VERY long time to put on his shoes or get into the car but I'm glad he is willing to do it, and it is teaching his mom a LOT of patience!

But Caleb loves it and it comes with a removable bottom so Luke can sit in it and Caleb can push him around, they both love it.

<br />For his party we just invited all the cousins to join us at McDonalds. There are only a few play places in this area that Caleb can climb up into and this particualr McDonalds is his favorite. It has some cute musical toys that the kids can climb and play on and they play music too.

Caleb wanted to eat at the Mayan but we weren't able to eat there and make our movie, so we just took pics on the snake, which he was just as excited about. We then grabbed some corn dogs and fries and went to the new Smurfs movie. It was very "smurflarious." Caleb loved it and laughed out loud many times, so it was fun to watch him.

Anyway, they had a lot of fun watching the big, <span style="font-size:130%;">huge</span>,<span style="font-size:180%;"> gigagntic</span> dump trucks hard at work. I made the mistake of telling Caleb that the mountain looks like a volcano from the front and now he won't refer to the copper mine as a "copper mine", it's a "volcano mountain" (whoops).<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZbMZl1mnLK5xCu2w2oCN4fygT2XlwVJHU-wKOi57B4ik1CpZJSuo23JvNXtVaKeSN5VqeEWXp96DKsNe1ZBydWZ3J_Yt3vouQZyQfdxo97S5iweT0BKmo4RPykFWQV8bEx7ohHahiTQU/s1600/IMG_4158.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633275316675293890" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZbMZl1mnLK5xCu2w2oCN4fygT2XlwVJHU-wKOi57B4ik1CpZJSuo23JvNXtVaKeSN5VqeEWXp96DKsNe1ZBydWZ3J_Yt3vouQZyQfdxo97S5iweT0BKmo4RPykFWQV8bEx7ohHahiTQU/s320/IMG_4158.JPG" /></a> Afterwards we stopped at my very favorite restaurant, Ab's Drive-In. When we lived out in West Jordan, I frequented this place, probably why I didn't lose any weight out there :), they have the best fries and shakes! Anyway, I've been wanting to go back and eat there ever since we moved back here to Orem. So in January I told myself if I lose 10 lbs then I can go (I know you should never reward yourself with food but it works for me). Well it took until June to finally decide to work hard and lose 10lbs and I did, and I was not dissapointed, it was still as delicious as I remembered it. <br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEji2DFE9hlRlBTqEHUh5ucuLR2baie5PGEuAz-9GU2oMHkzD9uPmkKKnLwY8vDCk1CH7qD0RKq3M0BntQsx9xcT-OgoUU_zizhh_0VcT8RJH0BO4JcA9H68qqOwVnCKWR7eiHoaD-OASGg/s1600/IMG_4160.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633275309201184098" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEji2DFE9hlRlBTqEHUh5ucuLR2baie5PGEuAz-9GU2oMHkzD9uPmkKKnLwY8vDCk1CH7qD0RKq3M0BntQsx9xcT-OgoUU_zizhh_0VcT8RJH0BO4JcA9H68qqOwVnCKWR7eiHoaD-OASGg/s320/IMG_4160.JPG" /></a> On the drive home I really wanted Luke to stay awake so he would have a good nap at home (you all know what I'm talking about). So I handed him a brand new box of tissues and he was enrtertained the whole ride home, it was great! Andy and I really like Brad Paisley so we got six tickets and had a blast! My parents came along with Andys bro, David, and sis, Katie. At the beginning some skydivers brought in the flag which was really neat. Then David Archuletta started off the show, and I was really amazed and impressed and I think I may have even developed a little crush on him:). But I was most excited for Brad Paisley. He sang most all of his great songs and I really wished that he could've sang all night! But of course, you can't go to the stadium of fire without some really awesome fireworks, which they were! All in all it was a great night and the weather was perfect!<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqLb_1pJcT9Eu5wPB92y6zvL92yqVFW20T7FOeXjOfm2eqcUCnMUQP8ZH-ir_7Yqv-lalT9UTq67t6_FKtTjtMacN7ii3LTcfmYcxO1exL_9Sn8lN3GMWmC6JC2d7LlyyYwFKxjcN1xoA/s1600/IMG_4049.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; I wasn't going to do a party this year but after a little persuasion from Austin I caved. The one exception was that we would do a pirate party again because I had all the stuff. <br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjffwSEtCqRB218P5_TH8qhLdEwDKo_V1g9xn6xLfeFoN2QrwC-AfH9jrXDUsLw2qgJOSYoCTiRxlQZ_SFQFbDftCwFvcMahvXsohbeh8pmbI7tStrRtBA7RrV4YvJU8OGC9cxAbpr8w5U/s1600/P1010080.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5582501871762680930" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjffwSEtCqRB218P5_TH8qhLdEwDKo_V1g9xn6xLfeFoN2QrwC-AfH9jrXDUsLw2qgJOSYoCTiRxlQZ_SFQFbDftCwFvcMahvXsohbeh8pmbI7tStrRtBA7RrV4YvJU8OGC9cxAbpr8w5U/s320/P1010080.JPG" /></a><br />This year he got to invite girls too. We go to the Mayan a lot and we always see people get these when it is their birthday so Austin was so excited that it was finally his turn!<br /><br /><br />Austin is such a good kid and such a huge help to me. Whenever Luke is crying he'll come and play with him, and he's so protective of his brothers. He loves to draw and he can build anything out of legos. I am so grateful he is my son and the oldest. It makes me so happy and yet sad that he is already 6. Time never stands still! In 6 more years Austin will be up passing the sacrament and then in 6 more he will be graduating and preparing for a mission! AAAAAHHHH, I just want to scream sometimes for time to stop. But I am learning to enjoy more little things even if they are fits or screaming or messes, because I know all too soon I will long for those things!</div><div> </div><div>Anyway Happy Birthday Austin!<br /><br /><br /><br /></div><div></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div>Kaylihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06032656786983816568noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3306835719927583410.post-856830086827653502011-01-20T20:50:00.000-08:002011-01-20T21:13:52.582-08:00Haircuts and Sittin' Up, Among Other ThingsAustin decided to see how fun it would be to cut his own hair. I know it doesn't look too bad from this picture but he cut it in four different places! When I aksed him where he put the hair (because it wasn't in his garbage) he said he hid it under his buckets! I then preceded to laugh and he said, "It's not funny, it's naughty!" You got that right!<br /><br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5564497922195592962" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikWIX522aDgxBY9ddIS73Fz6Xp7QXWM9fYuz0EaeuTiK7wrvQ6xwXJlgXwOG6NtQ9S8FBttVpJRTQWSk4_MGTqF8nLZ9WkEHh9SPERm9X6jNgjzNvLhzYNILGh27902ozdI74RYNjXnnM/s320/IMG_3713.JPG" /> At least he's not a girl, I think I would have a harder time covering up the damage. Below is a pile of his hair that I found right where he told me it would be!<br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5564497912695263394" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWJ1IKhOfgOQUyesNTCmdPdhyphenhyphen7C1Y-TJPMVWiZPzSTgaY4Kk0ITv2F2ZgMQgrZ6kDrzHOtYmNbK8ub3BGGd6TPp6_HoO61vlHvf4EX_38SiVXlGMm2i-Y2B-WWMtZvA39dXdJDcRkA-bc/s320/IMG_3714.JPG" /><br /><div><br /></div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5564497909863913730" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTtBR8Nw6ho4qGfcky-DMS9h5xRt3tCV8BFjZFa2C0tDIkcAQ6yCRiGLDgoUSB8TYa6RHNMdu0FGzWkcWIdjRexRzXvyOMpH6CQd0EnEfrs_P0fBhc0TF45GgLKwcBnze-3VlaEoJ3xWc/s320/IMG_3723.JPG" /> Luke is sitting up! He's usually on the ground after about 30 seconds, but he's getting better.<br /><br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5564500578175855890" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4FhblyJQ4MzTE1Sxvu8fqYkrwrLbVWCZGVlhJdW9cH9qRU-tT4GcL4XRyKIq8Sc5U6g5g9WsXNvqGipLaHvx3hVWqoxYAVqBIhyL7eDGAGloAG77cDdLPPaeKDFi8vT48NNydhmKsx84/s320/IMG_3716.JPG" /> Austin still loves to draw ships and draws them everywhere! For Christmas he got a ream of paper and some tape and this is just one example of his new creations. <div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5564497895863171858" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5ktmuT3SU43syyMqcKVLJQN3ZrWM0zOIIlyiiARiaz5X9uII9JUy2Sro43hs3ddRj0hHksFERldkGIOPy-XXhIQQWZGtqKcnPXu3pwtm_N0FD2QDelIQdt9RanFtRHaaZl6rTqf4C6bA/s320/IMG_3698.JPG" /><br />Forts are a new thing at our house. The boys love them. They take toys and pillows in to "decorate" the inside. They usually only last about 30 minutes before someone is crying because the other one broke it but it's good fun while it lasts! <div></div></div>Kaylihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06032656786983816568noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3306835719927583410.post-14345696881788520052010-12-28T13:18:00.001-08:002010-12-28T14:03:49.867-08:00Merry Christmas!<span style="color:#cc0000;">I say this every year but Christmas this year was a lot of fun! My favorite thing that Andy gave me were my blog books. He made and printed two blog books from the past two years and it was a huge surprise because I had never even mentioned that I wanted them! We thought it would be a great way to spend time as a family. Well, as you might know, things don't always turn out as planned. We stopped at the Mayan to eat before heading up to SL and right when we were getting ready to leave Austin threw up all over the floor and my coat (after already taking him to the bathroom twice)! Well we just thought he had a fluke throw up experience and we continued on our way. We were just pulling up to the temple when we hear some gagging and a huge splash (we didn't think to even think to give him a barf bag)! So now Austin, his whole seat, the floor, and even the seat in front of him are covered in throw up! But determined to make to best of it we continue to the hotel, where I put Austins pjs on in the parking lot and we head up to the hotel (leaving the mess for another day and trying not to think about it:). Me, Austin and Luke stay at the hotel and rent a 15.00! movie while Caleb and dad head up to Temple Square. So while it wasn't the trip we had envisioned we still had a good time and at least we slept well-Caleb had his own queen bed while Andy and I shared the other, Austin was on a roll away and Luke in the pack n play.</span><br /><br /></div><span style="font-family:verdana;"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5549925814703802978" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaYDALSubWrQYJSLTSMNl2M_obJpwHR1Jtv3bMs0MdUCXauoKKbKyzMpzHIyqw22GmdmgWS1_hbT_IsC2P9HCEdmL75Tg2ZE9rn8KAB-qCLjPjfCUyqwPxubv2IAMgcqPErOLzjxG2HLU/s320/12-6+312.JPG" /> <p align="center"></span><span style="font-family:verdana;">Caleb refused to be in this picture with the boys<br /></p><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5549925801992206418" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmfhyy0ZzvWmpwklvGl2j97hh8gUIF1EeC79Lla-ULmkgtC1FyT6voSolT0LpyM2DQ80pfTbjU1OXFFbMqocSai077o-xYN8qKjBaUxhg4CdtuZVybK1gIcWj5mpo2NxdZ4Qn3zZfNbOc/s320/12-6+310.JPG" /> <p align="center"></span><span style="font-family:verdana;">At least he got one with me<br /></p></span><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4IAqBRfGeLGg1Kym-ByMEWHDO_FOxL43GzRnpN1HwM8GWs3vd6l35BINxJo-3468e_nvIR3hle_StN3PA3UZp9vtW_MmL97WYKSYE2Es2wfVpAmiZaKvoOEQEhc7QkEINpzJqq3f_rXY/s1600/12-6+305.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5549925788873451170" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4IAqBRfGeLGg1Kym-ByMEWHDO_FOxL43GzRnpN1HwM8GWs3vd6l35BINxJo-3468e_nvIR3hle_StN3PA3UZp9vtW_MmL97WYKSYE2Es2wfVpAmiZaKvoOEQEhc7QkEINpzJqq3f_rXY/s320/12-6+305.JPG" /></a><span style="font-family:verdana;"><br />Here he is enjoying the lights with dad<br /><br /></span><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5549925775530746834" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmz3WgiLmNP21BoAhG37C_ygNoVoq0RIn81NZdKv6ZaNmP5r5r1S5mOqVc7Il86nNiSYCGOz_jORhBRwxWpzM_KVay2s7FGjHQWqzHAg8Zc09F6jwjV9Rjq2ibstp_8RGhGQVczUXBccs/s320/12-6+278.JPG" /><br /><span style="font-family:verdana;">These pictures are not part of the trip but I thought they were fun. You want everything in the world for them and you want them to be the best and achieve all of their dreams. Well, something that I’m really starting to learn in this life is that sometimes Heavenly Father has a different plan in mind.<br /></span></p><br /><p><span style="font-size:130%;">Yesterday, we took Caleb up to Primary Children’s Hospital, after waiting almost 3 months, to see a pediatric neurologist. We found out that our sweet, funny, happy, blue eyed boy has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, or DMD. DMD is a genetic, degenerative disease that affects all voluntary muscles, and the heart and breathing muscles. Caleb will be in a wheelchair no later than 14 and most likely not live past the age of 30.</span></p><br /><p><span style="font-size:130%;">It was such an incredibly hard thing to hear. You never want to hear that your child is the one that will be different and possibly get teased and not be able to do the things that everyone else can. You never want to hear that the hopes and dreams you had for your child may not happen. I have gone through so many emotions but mostly sadness. Every time I look at his face, I can’t help but get a little teary eyed or simply burst into tears!</span></p><br /><p><span style="font-size:130%;">But I do know, without a shadow of a doubt, that Caleb was sent to our family for a reason. He truly is so happy and content with life, ask anyone who knows him. I also know that every moment in this life matters. Family is so important! I don’t care if I ever live in that big dream house or drive a Tahoe or have fancy clothes (yes, things I wanted before :). I wasn't that sad sending him off since it's only three hours, from 8:00-10:53 (to be exact) but it was a little weird sending him off to the big school. I think the hardest adjustment will be getting him to bed early and waking him up early to be ready in time.<br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRxVud9_m-vRM8P2JNu8RR06D42gOSSNqI9Tq9Jv1nzI0Kv1XGJRwjtyATyl0YJRBDjhyuOvEnooFzktrJl_UpnLDVkAqut8kQnaV_2FxIyEfjCj8cHc644DgaXtgFUiqpmQOF_qem-UA/s1600/09-01+055.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5512131110485052114" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRxVud9_m-vRM8P2JNu8RR06D42gOSSNqI9Tq9Jv1nzI0Kv1XGJRwjtyATyl0YJRBDjhyuOvEnooFzktrJl_UpnLDVkAqut8kQnaV_2FxIyEfjCj8cHc644DgaXtgFUiqpmQOF_qem-UA/s320/09-01+055.JPG" /></a> He was way excited to go and wear his new batman backpack. He loves his teacher, Miss Johnson. He enjoyed his first day and the only name he remembers from all the kids in his class is a girl named Megan. Should I be worried he can only remember a girl name? Hopefully not! Caleb will be starting preschool next week with Miss (Grammy) Tammy. He is excited to go.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjq69RI0JZzuzzKAqQ7Dh4OCWki4M61p8Q42a1GnpzNkAUdVuFZSEHSZEUr3D_lFUW7kgzScd-AvZvzYPlzC4BGuIDUYPcQj3Vidkrl8VgCtYx2odZ4kSowhBO9WySh2uyn4Mhwyy_kVuo/s1600/09-01+059.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5512130657442366818" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjq69RI0JZzuzzKAqQ7Dh4OCWki4M61p8Q42a1GnpzNkAUdVuFZSEHSZEUr3D_lFUW7kgzScd-AvZvzYPlzC4BGuIDUYPcQj3Vidkrl8VgCtYx2odZ4kSowhBO9WySh2uyn4Mhwyy_kVuo/s320/09-01+059.JPG" /></a> Luke is three months now and smiles all the time. He has just started reaching out for things and he loves sucking on his hands. He refuses to take a binki, what a stinker! So I am just starting freash with Caleb's birthday. I can't believe Caleb is 3 already, time flies! Caleb is such a happy, funny little boy, he makes me laugh all the time. I am so thankful that he is part of my family of boys. We had his party at Dallin and Sarah's house and everyone had a ton of fun!<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5500452762383762786" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3RtXwNtfmFXix4mFdAB9z7D4mGi0ysxrhJloudcc3bf1YRi6ls5Xto4G9KHTW9OpCXDjNWJoQ82ogMeD2dLUAgS4SwwIkiKK6JpwPas8_04Fx1Y7hM6ZxYPIEp-GYh0XGD8tLBxkRe8E/s320/caleb+birthday+056.JPG" /> Here he is going down the slide<br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5500560939141225506" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP94XC0vHWS6YzUBStHaFjcqnmErpiN1ibskeH9-2xvdtmgLUGH4-FsrLvXikVUzlU1HZ3PGpBnG_Gds_8pRUN8zRCpvg8yCdFiqyqX9N3Jfzb_19QQh7pRK7ZRTR4cNGq11GnTipgcM4/s320/caleb+birthday+081.JPG" />Sorry about this random picture of Luke, I tried to put it at the bottom but blogger is not cooperating. We love Orem and it has been wondeful to have space again and to send the boys out into the backyard to play! Luke is now 9 weeks old and is such a good little boy and his brothers love him. My little (not so little anymore) brother, Cameron, just left to go into the MTC and in 9 weeks he will be headed off to Sweden, we will miss him. We are having a great summer spending lots of time with both Andy's fam and my fam.</p>Kaylihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06032656786983816568noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3306835719927583410.post-36315876791596654072010-06-14T08:03:00.001-07:002010-06-14T08:10:35.286-07:00Luke Franklin<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482646095941919250" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdRUBiRH3W_d44kqaxB7szzKno5f1-lrRmd_THBfPCAX0LL_tIqCmLD7Lp98rEB13m9yH75_C8y0YmKm_fW5M4G9-B030iX6S7TpJY7rTfaRU0ax-SA9YKcGTpnbLR5B3ylMOzvzXs57k/s320/luke+065.JPG" /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOHACYKkpReOf8PdRl8RHMa6Mgluow3FwRRxTTmT8-00kXFeev7AVfTbFMhmmC4jWDRdaxUQhP3RFwooeLH16bTcCgW8y33D-0FmN_GjFFgwLEGDcLgjrR4wGUbMR1u9Ae05huU9vqxXo/s1600/luke+074.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482646123597537426" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOHACYKkpReOf8PdRl8RHMa6Mgluow3FwRRxTTmT8-00kXFeev7AVfTbFMhmmC4jWDRdaxUQhP3RFwooeLH16bTcCgW8y33D-0FmN_GjFFgwLEGDcLgjrR4wGUbMR1u9Ae05huU9vqxXo/s320/luke+074.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCD6_o-ozY3jqX9sauuL-IQ488mlhNY-AaDSXrcVT-MmeSBiLuBq1Jv5fsMP9CG3WjISPTHFqwtYgGVALzAoN62XV9bhg6V7BUHO5J6jr2vWXoLfXBYqiYcJgnuhJBWAOo16JWVrIwcy4/s1600/luke+042.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482646114201416258" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCD6_o-ozY3jqX9sauuL-IQ488mlhNY-AaDSXrcVT-MmeSBiLuBq1Jv5fsMP9CG3WjISPTHFqwtYgGVALzAoN62XV9bhg6V7BUHO5J6jr2vWXoLfXBYqiYcJgnuhJBWAOo16JWVrIwcy4/s320/luke+042.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><div> So I keep thinking I am going to have time to sit down and write a huge post about Luke and the story of his birth and everything, but so far time is something I don't have.
