Our Little Graduate

Austin had his preschool program and graduation yesterday. He was so cute singing all of his songs and dancing with the girls, I can't believe he will be in Kindergarten soon, he is growing way too fast. I'm sure everyone feels this way when their first goes to Kindergarten, but I feel so old!

Here he is siging with his class. His class had 8 girls and only 4 boys, but he loved it!
Getting his diploma from his teacher Miss Tammy (Grandma)

Him and Jack, hanging out together as new graduates.
*One more week until baby comes. This was the last big event that I wanted to get done with before he came, so now I am just waiting and hoping he comes real soon! I am at the point where I am willing to get up in the night and deal with 3 kids, I am just sick of having him in my tummy and the sooner he comes the better, blah!!

Rare Moments

After a really bad day, I won't go into details, but this day was not my proudest as a mom, and my kids were not the best behaved (you know those days), I came into the family room to find this:

I just had to smile because this is such a rare moment, and they were both being so good. I'm glad I had a good ending to a not so good day.
Here they are another day watching a movie on dad's i-pad, Austin's new favorite toy!
Love you boys!

Dear Baby,

Ready when you are. Everything is set up and ready, just waiting on you. Three weeks left, although if you want to come sooner, I am perfectly okay with that!
Love, Mom

How to create michief during naptime

Step 1: stand on bed and open curtains to let in the light
Step 2: empty shelves of toys, books, and pjs

Step 3: put toys, books, and pjs into pack n play (and whatever else you can find on the floor and in the closet)

Step 4: be as happy as can be even when mom is yelling at you
Step 5: repeat again the next day
Side note: The pack n play is set up in Calebs room because if he doesn't stay in his bed for naptime (never does) then he has to go into the pack n play. I guess he decided if he filled it up with a ton of crap, then he wouldn't have to go into it, and it worked for the past two days because I have been too lazy to clean it out. But his weekend fun is over, today he will be taking a nice nap in his pack n play!

We're Back

I know for most of you, you didn't even know we were missing but I noticed. Two weeks ago the laptop that I was using finally broke down and I didn't realize how attatched to a computer I was. Even just to hop online to check my e-mail or my bank account or to look at my pictures or check blogs I have felt so lost and out of touch without a computer, so I am glad to have one again (thanks babe)! Anyway here is a little update with our family:The only time my boys can really get along for long periods of time is when they dress up and fight bad guys together. No matter what Caleb puts on he calls himself Dr Jones (I wonder where that came from)? It's been fun to watch them play and dress up together.

Easter was a lot of fun this year because both the boys understood it really well. They loved the easter egg hunts we had at Grandma Baughs and Grandma Bruuns and they loved dying easter eggs and looking for their easter baskets Sunday morning.
I always like to get the boys a new spring shirt for easter and a new church shirt. Here they are being nice enough to pose for mom.

This was the first year we attempted this as a family (you know how I feel about messes). But it ended up being a lot of fun and the boys loved it. Of course now I have 12 hard boiled eggs in my fridge that have yet to be eaten but, oh well.
Also: I have seven weeks left of pregnancy, hooray! I am getting induced on May 28 and can't wait to welcome boy #3 into the family!

My Boy is 5!!

5 years has gone by soooo fast! I can't believe Austin is 5, and off to Kindergarten in the fall! For his birthday he got one present from us and it has been something that he has been asking for since Christmas was over. I about died when I actually looked up the price of this item on-line (hence the reason for one present) but I broke down and got it anyway. He has loved it, so it was well worth it!

Here he is opening it up. Notice Caleb saying, "Cheese" in the background.
A Lego pirate ship, with sails!

He didn't open his present until about 8:00 pm, that was a mistake because he wanted to start building it right away. Here he is about half way, I made him go to bed at 10:30, so he had to wait until morning to finish.
All finished! The next morning he didn't eat breakfast or even come out of his room until about 11:00, when he was all done. Since that day he has already taken the whole thing apart and started building it once again, I guess building it is most of the fun?
This year since Austin was turning 5, I decided it was time for a friend party. He decided on a pirate themed party and he wanted a ship cake. So I bought a ship pan but had no idea how I was going to decorate this cake, because I really can't do that kind of stuff. So, here is my awesome sister, Jill, slaving away to make Austin the perfect ship cake. She worked for about 3 hours while I supervised (ha, ha). It turned out so dang cute, so this is a huge thank you to my sis and her hard work!

It turned out so perfectly, and Austin loved it!

Here's pirate Austin and all of his pirate buddies getting ready to party!
Your classic "pin the ship on the treasure map"
The pirates searched the room and found an old treasure map that had washed ashore in a bottle, they were ready for their treasure hunt.
Scoping out the treasure.
Our first stop was the oven, for some pirate eye patches.

After stopping at the dryer and the bathtub, the pirates finally found their treasure in Austin's room. Here they are making their scariest pirate poses with their loot.
Decorating their treasure boxes.

This picture is dedicated to my mom, who saved the party. So I scheduled the party for an hour and a half, and was still wondering if that was enough time. Well when we were done with every activity and only a half an hour had gone by I started to panic. Luckliy my mom, who is also a preschool teacher, rescued us with some other fun pirate games, like Treasure, Treasure, who stole the treasure, and Pirate, Pirate, Treasure (Duck, Duck, Goose), so Thanks a million mom!

Opening presents. Austin got more legos from his friends which he loved!

Cake time!

Two pirate pals, Austin and Jack.
Happy Birthday bud, we love you so much!

A Time for Change

With the new baby coming soon we knew it was time for Caleb to move out of his crib and move into a bed. We decided to purchase bunk beds and then move Austin's old bed into Caleb's room so Caleb could get used to a "big boy" bed and then hopefully if it works out when the baby comes we will have Caleb move into Austin's room. I've had many doubts about this arrangement and still do because Austin is VERY independent and loves playing in his room by himself for hours at a time. But for now everyone is happy, Caleb is doing great in his bed and Austin loves sleeping on the top bunk of his new bed.
